There are only 3 atolls in the Caribbean sea and two of them belong to Turneffe. The area boasts an incredible diversity of sea-life with much of it designated as a marine park. Being 100% surrounded by reef, the islands have a wealth of diving and fishing opportunities right on their doorstep, including the infamous ‘Blue Hole’. And this is precisely why the private island resort of Turneffe is such a draw. Turneffe is in essence a luxury sporting lodge for those who have a passion for water based activities and are looking for a sociable, fun environment in which to indulge. There are just 17 rooms on the island all of which have sea-views. Clad in a rich polished wood throughout, the rooms have a luxurious nautical feel inside. All your home comforts are provided for and there is even an outdoor shower. There are 3 types of room – standard, superior and the individual cabana’s. The only difference between the standard and superior rooms is that superior rooms have a better view as they are situated upstairs. The cabana’s are stand-alone, larger and have wrap around balcony’s. The restaurant is of exceptional quality providing a set-menu for guests who eat ‘family-style’ – this makes for a congenial atmosphere with many stories being exchanged over dinner../p> Turneffe is renowned worldwide for diving and fishing; and there are organised trips 3 x a day. There are also kayaks and hobie cats available for use. Clients come back again and again - which is testament to the unique experience that is Turneffe.
