Costa Rica holiday and honeymoons; An expert guide to the Nicoya Peninsula and Guanacaste

Click here for Nicoya Peninsula Hotel Reviews

The most exclusive beach retreats of Costa Rica are to be found on the Nicoya Peninsula. Remote, pristine beaches are lined with jungle offering a perfect place to relax and enjoy the dry, sunny climate.

Further inland, Nicoya province still retains much of its rural charm as the traditional cattle ranching land. Liberia, in the far north west, is a charming town of wide streets with beautiful low rise colonial buildings.

Nicoya Peninsula Hotels

All the hotels you will find on Latin Odyssey have been handpicked by us especially for you - we don’t recommend a hotel unless we have been there! You’ll find a detailed description as well as video’s and photo’s. However, we would recommend a phone call or an email to help you to decide which hotel will be the perfect one for you.

La Aqua Viva

Located in the quiet town of Nosara this is a Guanacastean hotel with a fresh, modern and exciting architectural style. The main building is built almost entirely of bamboo with dramatic high ceilings and a light airy feel. The bar and restaurant overlook a series of pools and there is also an Ibiza style open air deck with ice white lounge chairs. The bar area is furnished with sexy soft cream leather and animal prints and is a decadent place to relax at cocktail hour.

Punta Islita Hotel

‘What a view!’ The drama of the Guancaste coastline is created by the tree covered verdant green mountains which drop down into the deep blue of the Pacific ocean. This hotel is located on one of these steep slopes and has a stunning 180 degree ocean view of the bay of Punta Islita.

Cala Luna

The busy and colourful town of Tamarindo is just a 15 minute drive away but Cala Luna feels like another world. Designed with a Mediterranean flavour using the colours of coral, salmon pink and creams the hotel has achieved an understated yet stylish feel. The grounds are covered in mature tropical trees and plants, all of which surrounds the large swimming pool at its centre.

Four Seasons Papagayo

The Four Seasons hotel has created a name for itself globally as a quality hotel and their hotel on the Papagayo peninsula is no exception. Although larger than a lot of the hotels we offer – this hotel has 144 rooms- we would really only recommend the one and two bedroom suites here, especially those with their own private plunge pool. Located on its own private peninsula the hotel incorporates; a Jack Nicholas designed 18 hole golf course, 2 beaches, 3 restaurants, 4 swimming pools and a comprehensive spa with 21 separate rooms for massages, the list goes on!
