Day 1. Fly to Guatemala
Fly on the overnight flight from London to Guatemala City

Day 2. Lake Atitlan
Met on arrival and transfer (3hrs) to Lake Atitlán and the Hotel Casa Palopó in a Deluxe room for 2 nights on a b&b basis.

Day 3. On lake Atitlan
Often described as ‘the most beautiful lake in the world’, Lake Atitlán is stunning. Met for your guided day boat trip around the lake visiting the towns of Santiago with its curious Maximon shrine and Santa Catarina with its striking purple local costume.

Day 4. Visit Chichicastenango
Morning free for personal exploration. Met in the afternoon and transferred (1hr) to Chichicastenango and the Mayan Inn for a night in a Suite on a b&b basis.

Day5. Antigua
Morning free to explore the famous Chichicastenango Market where hundreds of colourfully dressed locals sell their quality handicrafts. We suggest an early rise to watch the locals arriving and getting ready for market. Transfer (3hr) after lunch to Antigua and the Lion’s Inn for 3 nights in a standard suite on a b&b basis.

Day 6-7. In Antigua
2 days free for personal exploration, the city had a variety of attractions; we would recommend a half day guided tour Antigua or alternatively trek up on of the surrounding volcanoes, explore the valley or visit one of the Mayan markets.

Day 8. Transfer to Copan
Met and transferred (5hrs) to Copan Ruinas in Honduras and the Hacienda San Lucas for two nights on a half board basis.

Day 9. Visit Copan
Met for a half day guided tour of Copan ruins. Famous for its intricate carvings and hieroglyphics Copan is known as the Paris of the Mayan world. Highlights include the impressive hieroglyphic stairway, decorated ball court and Rosalila temple. The afternoon is free to further explore the site. We also recommend a visit to the museum.

Day 10. to Livingston
Met and transfer (5hrs) to Puerto Barrios back in Guatemala via the impressive Mayan site of Quirigua known for its tall and impressively carved stelae. Boat transfer (30mins) along the tropical Caribbean coast to Livingston. Met on arrival and transfer to the Hotel Villa Caribe for one night in a junior suite on a b&b basis.

Day 11. To Flores
Met early morning and transfer to the port for your boat trip (3hrs) up the Rio Dulce river with beautiful scenery along the way visiting the old Spanish fort along the way. Met at Lago de Izabal for your transfer (4 hrs) up to Flores and Francis Ford Coppola’s La Lancha Hotel for 2 nights in a Rainforest Casita on a B&B basis.

Day 12. In Flores
Free for personal exploration. The lodge has a variety of mountain trails and bikes for your use. Additionally, excursions can be organised and paid for locally.

Day 13. Tikal
Met in the late morning and transfer (1hr) to Tikal and the Jungle Lodge hotel for 2 nights on a full board basis. Met after lunch for a half day guided tour of the ruins. We suggest watching the sunset from temple 4.

Day 14. Tikal
The day is free to further explore the ruins which are within easy walking distance of your hotel. We suggest taking in the sunrise from temple 1.

Day 15. Fly London
Early morning transfer (1hr) to Flores for your flight back to Guatemala City, depart 08:20 arrive 09:10. Met on arrival and transfer to the international terminal for your overnight flight back to London arriving on day 16.

As a guideline, the itinerary outlined above would cost approximately £2,673 per person and includes all activities on a private basis unless stated, private transfers, internal flights, accommodation and taxes and meals where mentioned.
