Day 1. London to Guatelama City
Fly overnight London to Guatemala City, on the overnight flight
Day 2. Guatemala City to Flores
Met on arrival and transferred to the domestic airport for your flight to Flores. Met on arrival and transferred to Francis Ford Coppola’s La Lancha Hotel for 2 nights on a B&B basis. The rest of the day is free for personal exploration.
Day 3. at La Lancha
Free for personal exploration. The lodge has a variety of mountain trails and bikes for your use. Additionally, excursions can be organised and paid for locally.
Day 4. Tikal
Early morning transfer to Tikal for a half day guided tour of the ruins. Lunchtime check in to the Jungle Lodge hotel for 1 night on a B&B basis. The afternoon is free to further explore the ruins which are within easy walking distance of your hotel. We suggest watching the sunset from temple 4.
Day 5. Tikal to San Ignacio (Belize)
The morning is free for a last visit to the ruins. We suggest taking in the sunrise from temple 1. Early afternoon transfer (2hrs) to San Ignacio in Belize and the Chaa Creek Hotel for 3 nights in a cottage room on a B&B basis.
Day 6-7. In San Ignacio
Free for personal exploration. There are plenty of excursions (Canoing, biking, horseriding, caving..) to choose from that can be arranged and paid for locally. We recommend a full day trip through the Mountain Pine Reserve to explore the impressive Mayan ruins at Caracol.
Day 8. San Ignacio to Placencia
Met and transferred to Placencia and Francis Ford Coppola’s Turtle Inn for 3 nights in a seaview cottage on a b&b basis.
Day 9-10. In Placencia
Free for personal exploration. There are a number of excursions that can be organised and paid for locally. We would recommend a trip out to Laughing Bird Caye for snorkelling and beachcombing and a trip to the Cockscombe Basin to spot wildlife and nature.
Day 11. Placencia to San Pedro
Met and transferred (2hrs) to Belize city for your speed boat launch (1hr) to Ambergris Caye in time for lunch. Check into the Victoria House Hotel on Ambergris Caye for 4 nights on a B&B basis.
Day 12-14. In San Pedro
Free for personal exploration. 3 days to explore the island and its surrounding reefs. I would suggest diving the Blue Hole or Turneffe Islands and snorkel in the sting ray alley and Hol Chan Marine Park.
Day 15. San Pedro to London
Speedboat transfer to Belize City and on to Belize International Airport for your overnight flight to London, arriving day 16.
As a guideline, the itinerary outlined above would cost approximately £2,688 per person and includes all activities on a private basis unless stated, private transfers, internal flights, accommodation and taxes and meals where mentioned.
In addition your international flights from London will be from £650 per person.
