Day 1. Fly to San Jose, Costa Rica
Fly from London to San Jose on the daytime flight. Met on arrival by our representative and transfer to Hotel Grano de Oro for two nights on a b&b basis.

Day 2. In San Jose
Free for personal exploration. We would suggest; a guided visit to San Jose including the gold museum, whitewater rafting, Poas volcano or a trip up Irazu volcano for spectacular views to the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.

Day 3. Transfer to Monteverde
Met in the morning for your 4x4 transfer (3 hrs) to Monteverde and the Hotel Fonda Vela for 3 nights on a b&b basis. Met in the afternoon for your guided half day canopy tour.

Day 4. In Monteverde
Met in the morning for your guided walk along the trails of Monteverde Cloudforest reserve. After lunch you have a guided visit to the butterfly and orchid gardens.

Day 5. In Monteverde
In Monteverde Cloudforest reserve. The day is free, you can choose from a number of optional excursions including horse riding, mountain biking, zip-lining through the forest canopy among other things. In the evening you are met for your guided night walk in the cloudforest.

Day 6 Transfer to Arenal
Met in the morning for your transfer by jeep and boat (3hrs) to Arenal via Rio Chiquito and Lake Arenal. 2 nights at the Tabacon Resort in a garden room on a b&b basis. Afternoon free for personal exploration. The resort has hot springs with great views of the volcano especially by night.

Day 7. In Arenal
The day is free, there are several excursions to choose from including: Arenal volcano hike, la fortuna waterfall, whitewater rafting on the sarapiqui river or a canopy tour.

Day 8. Transfer to the Rio Indio Lodge
Met in the morning for your transfer ( hrs) to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui and a scenic route by boat (2.5hrs) into Nicaragua and the remote Rio Indio Lodge for 3 nights on a full board basis.

Day 9-10. At Rio Indio
2 full days free for personal exploration in the Indio-Maiz Nature Reserve. Choose from a range of activities such as nature spotting boat rides through the backwaters of the reserve, natural history hikes, birding, walks, kayaking, horseback riding, sport fishing, river and beach exploration and more.

Day 11. Fly to the Osa Peninsula
Met and boat transfer (1hr) to Barra de Colorado airport for your flight to Palmar Sur on the Osa peninsula via San Jose, depart 06:45 arrive 07:20; depart 09:00 arrive 10:00. Met on arrival and transfer ( ) to Sierpe for the boat transfer to the remote Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge for 3 nights in a deluxe bungalow on full board basis.

Day 12-13. On the Osa Peninsula
2 days free for personal exploration. There is an included programme of guided excursions which could include: walk the trails of Corcovado National Park, hiking the Casa Corcovado private trails, swimming and snorkelling in a sheltered bay, visit Caño Island and bird watching tour. You can also choose to paddle a sea kayak, go dolphin and whale watching or fishing.

Day 14. Fly London
Met in the morning and boat transfer to Sierpe then vehicle to Palmar Sur airport for your flight to San Jose, depart 10:30 arrive 11:20 to connect with your international overnight flight to London arriving day 15.

As a guideline, the itinerary outlined above would cost approximately £2,733 per person and includes all activities on a private basis unless stated, private transfers, internal flights, accommodation and taxes and meals where mentioned.
