The Corn Islands offer bare foot paradise, with relatively little development and few visitors. They consist of two small Caribbean islands (Big and Little Corn) which are fringed with coral and ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving. These no-frills islands have a West Indian charm and character with a very relaxed pace of life. Lying 70km off the Atlantic coast, the Corn Islands are best reached by light aircraft. Big Corn is just 6 square km with a variety of secluded bays with white sand and warm, turquoise water. A short boat trip will take you across to Little Corn which is extremely quiet and relatively untouched. THINGS TO SEE AND DO ON THE CORN ISLANDS:Hire a bike. Slow your pace and lazily explore the island, breaking the journey with occasional swims on the secluded beaches.Snorkelling/Diving. Warm waters with excellent visibility invite you to admire the coral and tropical fish life. A centuries-old Spanish Galleon wreck lies 1.5km offshore in just 20 metres of water. The small size of the islands means you can explore many of the wonderful beaches and bays.Relax. Swing in a hammock or lie on the beach in the shade of a palm tree with a good book. Enjoy a tropical cocktail and barbequed fresh fish.
